Fall is in the air

Connor is getting so big!  He's looking more and more like a little boy and less like a 'baby'. I can't wait for his next well baby appointment so we can see how much he's grown.  I guess I could measure him myself, but it's so fun to wait and hear at the doctors office.  It's been getting chilly here in the evenings.  Our past few walks Connor has had to be all bundled up.  I've got to say he look pretty adorable in a hoodie!  I'll have to get a picture this week for you all.  Connor has also started shaking his toys this week.  A big step from just putting them in his mouth.  Connor is also getting VERY  close to sitting up on his own.  He can actually do it for a few minutes on his own, but then he throws himself back.  Maybe later this week...

I know it's only September, but I've had Christmas on my mind since July!  We went to Frankenmuth in July and I just been so excited since then!  I've been meaning to make Christmas stocking for Chris and I for the past 7 years, but the new addition finally gave me the kick I needed.  I have Connor's done, I just need to finish ours and then I'll post pictures!  They're turning out really cute!!! (Hopefully I'll get them finished this week.)

This week Chris also was invited to interview at Salt Lake for his GPR.  We're both pretty excited, we're heard great things about these programs.  Hopefully the interviews go well.  It would be so nice to be back west and closer to family!

Connor with his hat hair!  His hair is getting so long.  We should probably trim it up, but I'm afraid I'll stab him with the scissors, he still move pretty unpredictably sometimes.

This was the outfit Connor wore to church today.  Doesn't he look cute?

Hmmmm cereal!  (Okay, he really wasn't crazy about it.) We have a video I'll upload in a few minutes

Keeping Busy

Connor and I have been keeping pretty busy this week.  He's getting so much more active! He loves his rings, they are still his favorite toy, he tried to take some to a nap with him.  We also rearranged our furniture this week and gave Connor a great spot right in front of the sliding glass door.  He loves it!  And it doubled tummy time!  Such a great idea.  He still loves his daily walks and continues to be his happy little self!  We just love him!

Laying on the couch.

Playing on the floor and having a great time!  I just love that smile!

Trying out the high chair for the first time.  He didn't last very long, I think his little tummy muscles got tired. We'll have to keep practicing!

Playing on the floor again and modeling my first attempt at dying.  The shirt turned out better then I hoped! I was going to add some applique, but I kind of just like the plain green (way better then a plain white).  I really want to try an orange one next (for fall!).

Laughing Connor

We finally caught Connor's laugh on video!  He's been laughing like this for the past month or so, but whenever I break out the camera he stops.  Chris and I still haven't figured out what exactly triggers him.  He loves it when you sing to him (his favorite today, Cowboy Joe).  The first time we got him to laugh like this Chris was singing Istanbul.  He also likes to play 'sneak up on the baby.'  You pretend to not pay attention to him and then look back at him and smile or say hi and Connor thinks it's the best game ever.  He'll just stare at you until you look back at him (or he loses interest) and then laugh.  You'll have to excuse the focus in the video for some reason the camera was having a really hard time keeping him in focus (and I was laughing too which didn't help), but the sound is great!  Hope this brings a smile to your face!

Last Weeks of August

We had some great family time these past couple of weeks.  Chris had a week off from school so we hung-out around Ann Arbor and enjoyed the cooler weather we were having.  We went on a 'hike' or what people call hikes around here.  It was a paved metro park.  Not really what we had in mind when we set out, but it ended up being nice.  Connor fell asleep in the car on the way and it was nice to just be able to put his seat in the stroller.  When he woke up he enjoyed the view of all the trees.  I don't know what he'll think when fall hits here.  We did have a warmer day, so we took Connor to the pool again.  He had a similar reaction to the first time we took him (just relaxed and gazed about).  I think he likes his baths better, but at least he doesn't complain.

It seems like he grows over night some mornings.  He's getting big so quickly!  We can hardly believe he's 5 months old.  This first year is going to fly by.  The 6 month mile stone should be fun.  We just ordered Connor a high chair and are getting geared up to start feeding him solids in a few weeks.  Yum, rice cereal!
